HOW NOT TO RECEIVE THE GRACE FOR HARVEST IN VAIN – 1
2 Corinthians 6:1
*“We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.”*
Understand that believers can receive the grace of God in vain. In this Part, our focus is to examine how to avoid receiving this grace of soul winning in vain. Paul knew this very well. Little wonder he had to “beseech” all the workers in the Harvestfield not to receive the grace of God in vain.
The word _“beseech”_ means to ask someone to urgently and fervently do or refrain from doing something. In simple English, it means to plead passionately. Paul had to plead passionately with the Corinthian Church not to receive the grace of God in vain. How can we avoid this? Let us examine at least six ways.
First, grace is allergic to pride and ego. God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. Pride chokes grace. Pride goes before a fall. We can do nothing without God. So, be humble.
*”I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”*
Second, a believer must not frustrate the grace of God. In Galatians 2:21 Paul said that he did not frustrate the grace of God. You can frustrate the grace of God by idleness, ignorance, complacency or outrightly taking the grace for souls harvest for granted.
Third, an unactivated grace is a grace received in vain. Grace is not an auto pilot. It must be activated by the action of faith. Grace is a propeller. Paul said that, by grace, he was propelled to labour more than all other Apostles.
1 Corinthians 15:10
*”But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.”*
DECLARE: I shall not receive the grace for souls harvest in vain. Do you believe God answers your prayers? Then turn your declaration into prayers NOW.
