THE LORD OF THE HARVEST PART 3

Anchor Scripture:

Daniel 12:3

“And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.”

Strategies are the application of wisdom to achieve a desired result. Show me a believer who is engaged in soul winning and I will show you a believer who is operating in divine wisdom. Our anchor scripture was a prophetic end time revelation granted Daniel concerning today’s soul harvesters. God is clear on how vital the soul winning business is to Him. They that are wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament. Notice the second part: “… they that turn many to righteousness” shall shine as the stars for ever and ever. Wow! This is why the wise must know and deploy the right strategies for turning many to righteousness. We have looked at the LOVE Strategy and given it the primacy of place. We shall now examine two more: the Personal Testimony and the Miracles strategies.

The Personal Testimony Strategy

One of the potent weapons of soul winning is to share your personal testimony of how you got born again and other divine encounters. This is the celebrated strategy of the Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship. This strategy works anywhere and any time. It works well among the upper and middle classes in the society. It also works well among the lower class.

In Chapter 26 of the Acts of the Apostles, Paul used the opportunity of his defence before King Agrippa to share a moving personal testimony of  his encounter with Jesus Christ and how he got born again. It moved King Agrippa to admit that he was almost persuaded to become a Christian. Many have been almost and altogether persuaded by the testimonies of our personal encounter with God.

Acts 26:28 -29

“Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian. 29 And Paul said, I would to God, that not only thou, but also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am, except these bonds.”

But I have a word of caution. Do not forget how you got saved. Your life must always reflect your standing in Christ. A missionary Evangelist, Tony Abram, puts it so succinctly this way: “Don’t unsay with your life what you say with your tongue.” The Lord shall help is in Jesus name. This takes us to the third strategy.

3). The Deliverance and Miracle strategy.

Acts 8:6

“And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.”

People easily believe the gospel when they see the confirmation of the gospel with signs following. A leading missionary and discipleship expert, Dr. Sam Amaga, the Archbishop of Salem Family Worldwide, (I am his proud son in Christ) says that miracles simplify the Gospel.  This is a verifiable truth. I have seen it happen in our ministry every time God wrought miracles through our hands. People’s faith are stimulated when miracles happen. Secondly, spontaneous escalation of God’s amazing acts takes place naturally. The day God handed down the love gift of 23 instant miracles in a service, we also had an harvest of souls in response. In 1996, God wrought a miracle through my hand by healing a lady of epilepsy. Giving her life to Christ, post miracle, was quite easy. People want to see the demonstration of the Spirit and the power of God and they will not struggle to receive your gospel. Sergius Paulus, the Deputy President of Paphos, believed Paul’s message and gave his life to Christ instantly when he saw Paul command Elymas, the sorcerer, who was probably the “Special Assistant” to the Deputy President, become blind for trying to hinder the Deputy President from turning to the Christian faith.  Read Acts 13:7-12. You too can demonstrate the power of God when the occasion demands it. Alleluia!

PRAYER POINTS:

  1. O Lord, grant me boldness to preach your word with signs following. (Acts 8:6)
  2. O Lord, fill me with the strategic wisdom to win souls on a regular basis. (Proverbs 11:30)
  3. O Lord, let my personal testimony stir up conviction in the hearers unto their salvation. (Acts 26:28-29)
  4. O Lord, cause my light to shine as the stars for ever as I engage in turning people unto righteousness in Jesus name. (Daniel 12:3)
  5. I receive courage to cut diviners, sorcerers and witches to size in the harvestfield in Jesus name. (Acts 13:7-12)
