THE LORD OF THE HARVEST PART 2

Anchor scripture:

1 John 3:16

*”Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.”*

Every conquest answers to a strategy or strategies. Many perish in a battle because of lack of knowledge or adequate knowledge. No wonder the Lord challenged us to go for knowledge lest we perish. Many are willing to preach the gospel but they do not know the HOW. Many opportunities for harvest go untapped because we lacked the right skill set to deliver the saving power of God to the lost. We now commence the consideration of ten (10) tried and tested souls harvest strategies you can deploy to make souls harvest an enjoyable adventure. Like our father says, soul winning is a rescue mission. You may need to deploy just one or a combination of these strategies to harvest your ripe fruits. Let’s start with the LOVE strategy.

1). The Love Strategy

The world has a love deficit challenge. There is a wide distinction between love and lust. Love deficit accounts for the preponderance of malice, hatred, anger, bitterness, betrayals, treachery, murder and the like. The natural instinct of a person, is to embrace love when he or she finds one. God is love. He decided to send Jesus Christ to die for our sins as an offering of love to save mankind. See these interesting twin scriptures on God’s love for the lost in the Gospel of John and the Epistle of John:

John 3:16

*”For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”*

1 John 3:16

*”Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.”*

Let us present the love side of the salvation message when we are on the rescue mission. Jesus was motivated by love to die for us. Let the devil not tell you otherwise.

Romans 5:7 -8

*”For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. 8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”*

Jesus died to take our place even while we were yet sinners. It is the height of love for the righteous to die for the undeserving. He is stretching out His hands to welcome you home now. Don’t refuse this love offer.

Prayer Points:

  1. O Lord of the Harvest, grant me the grace to resist the evil prompting not to embark on evangelism.
  2. O Lord of the Harvest, grant me the courage to step out on this rescue mission even when it is not convenient.
  3. O Lord of the Harvest, I enlist afresh as a labourer in the Harvestfield until Jesus returns.
  4. O Lord of the Harvest, lead me to a ripe soul from today in Jesus mighty name.
